Care Home Activities
Our daily activities organised by Tina Neilson our activity co-ordinator are designed to keep our resident’s lives interesting and their minds and bodies sharp.
Our carers and activity co-ordinator work closely to provide a range of activities and South East England day trips for our residents. We also publish a monthly newsletter for residents and families to read and enjoy.
Our residential homes are filled with activities in which our carers will organise and ensure that everyone has something that they can do. Call us today on 01303 265 175 to go through your own requirements with a professional member of our rest homes.
Daily entertainment includes a number of social spaces inside and outside, which can be used for reading, socialising or enjoying your own quiet time. We also have a small library of books and encourage all residents to keep up hobbies and activities they used to engage in at home.
Our dedicated care home activity area is ideal for this purpose, offering a practical space with work surfaces well removed from the quiet lounges for people wanting to read or nap.
Of course, being so close to the coast in Kent, we also encourage trips out and usually arrange day trips to the beach, for coffee, sightseeing or shopping with just a few residents and one carer in a car.
These small scale trips are easier to organise and operate and ensure residents get more individual choice in where they are going and more focused attentions from the carer.
More regular activities include TV and radio entertainment, games afternoons, reminiscence sessions and coffee mornings; all ideal for keeping active, social and getting to know all the other staff members and residents.
So whatever your hopes for a residential care home, contact us at any time to come and visit Abbey Lodge in Hythe and enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere for yourselves!
